Full transparency on price increases from our CEO

I’ve always had a difficult time increasing prices on customers, even when the economy requires it. 

Our costs of business have increased drastically in the last 10 years. Despite this, in the past 15 years, with today’s increase we will have increased most products only 20-45% in total, despite many categories, including ingredients, raw materials, insurance, labor, health insurance, property taxes, website fees and more going up anywhere from 50-300%. In our city, team members have seen average 2-bed home rent go from $900 to $2400, and home prices go from 150k to 400k in this same timeframe. The list is endless and we can only do our best to keep up. 

Our current price increase supports not only continued attention to pristine product quality and cost adjustments, but the invisible costs a company like ours requires to function successfully, like four weeks paid time off* for our long-term team members. These costs ensure a happy team and low turnover, which leads to product consistency, quality and joy. 

In a world where executives are taking pay thousands of times higher than their highest paid employee, I can honestly tell you that in the past five years, I have routinely taken less pay then the majority of team members on our floor. We continue to reinvest into the future, investing into high-quality ingredients, fixing our building, buying American machinery, providing raises and building a long term legacy we can all be proud of.
